Naval
Reserve Center Fort
Jackson, South Carolina
This
was a Design/Build Project. The project consists of a
freestanding two-story Naval Reserve Center Building. 2185
gross square meters (23,529 GSF) located within Fort Jackson in
Columbia, SC. Minor site demolition, and new utilities
connections, site grading, asphalt paving, parking, driveways,
sidewalks, fencing, and landscaping were needed for the addition of
the new building to be located on Lee Road.
The
new building houses general office space for the Naval Reserve
Administration unit, the Recruiting Office and Active Duty
Administration Offices. The building also houses classrooms,
an auditorium, an assembly hall, medical unit, facilities office,
exercise area, conference rooms, toilets, locker rooms and showers,
library, storage, garage and support spaces for the Naval Reserve
Center administrative and training requirements.
Johnson,
Laschober & Associates, P.C. was a Subcontractor of the
Design/Build Team Sicner Planning and Design (Design/Build
Architect) and Hedges Construction (Design/Build
Contractor). JLA Engineers provided the
engineering design services including civil, structural, electrical,
mechanical, fire protection, life safety and landscape architecture. JLA
developed construction documents, reviewed submittals and provided
design solutions for all design issues during the construction
phase.
