The project
scope included the revitalization of Downtown McCormick. JLA
provided full design services and construction administration
services. The design included the installation of new stamped
concrete sidewalks, accent paving, crosswalks, curb and gutter,
storm drainage, asphalt, raised concrete planters, street lights,
mast arm traffic poles, signalization, seating, and landscaping with
irrigation. Project was partially funded by an ISTEA grant.

Phase
II:
The
project scope includes the development of two small urban parks in
Downtown McCormick as part of the revitalization of the Town.
The first park, located immediately adjacent to the Town's Visitor
Center, provides a shaded seating area under a vine-covered trellis
surrounded by planting and areas and provided with accent
lighting. The second park is located next to the Town's
historic Train Depot and offers seating under a shade structure as
well as ornamental fencing, historic lighting, trash receptacles and
planting areas with flowering shrubs and trees.
JLA
provided full design services and construction administration
services. Phase II is currently under
construction. The project was designed and bid under
budget and construction is approximately two-weeks ahead of
schedule.
We are pleased to announce that Zachary K. Davis
has achieved his Registration as a Landscape Architect in the
State of Georgia. Mr. Davis is a 2004 graduate of the University of
Georgia and has been a member of the Landscape Architecture Department since
joining the firm in 2004.
