A
couple of projects JLA has worked on at Valdosta State University
are the Administration Building and the Gymnasium.
Administration
Building: JLA provided design services for renovation of
21,000 sq. ft. in existing building and a second floor addition to
serve as the Administration Center for Valdosta State University.Disciplines involved:fire
protection, plumbing, HVAC and electrical.Designed with state-of-the-art VAV air-handling systems
utilizing 4-pipe chilled water, hot water, and DDC controls.A new 800 amp electrical service was provided.The existing central utility plant for the complex was
expanded by adding a 400-ton centrifugal chiller, cooling tower,
chilled water, and condenser water pumps. As part of the project,
two existing air-handling units serving an adjacent 43,000 sq. ft.
classroom building were converted from DX to chilled water and tied
into the central plant.The
entire project was under the jurisdiction of GFSIC.
Gymnasium:
JLA provided mechanical, electrical, and structural design for the
gymnasium HVAC. Electrical design included the upgrade of power distribution to support the complete renovation of the gymnasium HVAC
We are pleased to announce that Zachary K. Davis
has achieved his Registration as a Landscape Architect in the
State of Georgia. Mr. Davis is a 2004 graduate of the University of
Georgia and has been a member of the Landscape Architecture Department since
joining the firm in 2004.
